Top Task Tutoring is a student-run, free tutoring service available to all children, regardless of background or academic level. Our mission is to aid and improve school performance by providing personalized academic support in all areas of the curriculum.
We offer tutoring in math, science, reading, writing, and other core subjects. Every student deserves the opportunity to thrive; we provide accessible, high-quality tutoring to support that goal.
Our tutors are students from Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School, with strong academic experience who care about helping younger students succeed. They bring patience, knowledge, and enthusiasm to every session so students feel supported, confident, and ready to excel.
Getting started is simple. Follow these steps to begin your child's learning journey with us.
Share your child's grade, subjects, and any specific needs or learning goals.
Our team pairs your child with a CGPS student tutor who best fits their needs.
You'll receive a Google Meet link shortly before each session begins.
Our tutors focus on building skills, confidence, and consistent learning habits.
Top Task Tutoring is completely free for families.
Top Task Tutoring offers a wonderful and engaging education-based volunteer opportunity for students at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School.
Only Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School students may sign up as tutors. All volunteer hours are logged, which is important for service credit and college applications.
As a tutor, you'll help younger students with their schoolwork, building your leadership, communication, and teaching skills while making a meaningful impact in students' lives.

We hold our tutoring sessions Tuesdays to Thursdays from 5:30–6:30 PM (Eastern Time). We do not tutor during major holidays or during winter, spring, or summer breaks.
